Increased tuna production in the West and Central Pacific has led to a significant drop in raw material prices in Bangkok, Thailand, with rates falling to $1,300/ton in March, the lowest since October 2021. The price of bonito in Bangkok has also decreased to around $1,300/ton. However, prices in the Philippines remain high at $1,650/ton, and in Manta, Ecuador, the price in March was between $1,450-1,500/ton. The Indian Ocean bonito price has also been impacted, dropping to €1,300-1,400/ton due to influences from the Asian and South American markets.
