Germany's blueberry cultivation area has expanded consistently for the past eleven years, reaching 3,469 hectares in 2022, as per Destatis. However, the growth rate is slowing down, with only a 2% increase last year. Red and white currants and raspberries are the next most harvested fruits. Out of the total blueberry area, 560 hectares are under cultivation, marking a decrease from the previous year. Organic cultivation within German soft fruit cultivation has seen a 2.3% growth in the past year, reaching 2,890 hectares, with aronia berries being the primary crop.
