Boseong County (County Mayor Kim Chul-woo) announced that on the 29th of last month, it held a black porgy fingerling release event in the Deukryang Bay area to secure sustainable marine resources and increase fishermen's income. On the day of the event, around 100 people, including County Mayor Kim Chul-woo, related organizations, fishing village leaders, and fishermen, participated and shared the importance of marine ecosystem conservation and fishery resource protection. The released black porgy fingerlings were approximately 5cm in size, with 180,000 fish returning to the sea that day. Black porgy has a fast growth rate and is a high-end fish species popular among consumers, and it is expected to play a significant role in increasing fishermen's income if it successfully settles in the local fishing grounds.
