Brazil's 2024 corn crop is expected to have surpluses, with some areas experiencing production losses due to climate conditions, but it is not expected to negatively impact domestic supply. The early planting and good climate in regions like Mato Grosso and Goiás have resulted in high yields, potentially offsetting the production losses in other areas. However, sorghum productivity in the east of Goiás may be low due to dry and hot weather. Production estimates have been reduced for Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, and Paraguay due to dry conditions in May. Despite these production cuts, Brazil's 121-million-ton crop is expected to meet the country's demand without risk of shortages, and Brazil has 40 million tons of corn to meet global demand.
