Halal chicken exports to the Arab world: In the first six months of the year, according to data supplied by ABPA – Brazilian Association of Animal Protein – halal chicken exports resulted in 942,000 tonnes shipped. The main importers (in tonnes) were: Saudi Arabia with 396,365 t; UAE 239,826 t; Yemen 85,130 t, Kuwait 73,050 t and Libya 64,918 t. The total amount of halal chicken exported by Brazil accounts for an average of 40% of Brazilian chicken meat exports (in natura and processed).
