Brazil has reopened its market to Australian mutton, lamb, sheep meat by-products, and edible offal, as previously exports had been suspended due to changes in Brazilian requirements. This development comes as Mercosur countries, including Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile, which have large flocks, are grappling with low wool prices and strong competition from Australia in the sheep meat industry. Australia's Minister Murray Watt highlighted the quality of Australian meat products and the new opportunities this access provides for the Australian sheep meat industry.
