Brazil's rice exports drop 20% in November

In November 2024, Brazil exported 111.8 thousand tons of rice (husk base), generating revenue of US$ 51.3 million, according to the monthly report of the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). However, the volume exported represented a 20% drop compared to the same month in 2023, when the country shipped 139.8 thousand tons. Revenue also showed a 9% reduction in the annual comparison. Regarding imports, Brazil acquired 75.7 thousand tons of rice (husk base) last month, with an outlay of US$ 34.9 million. There was a 22% decrease in imports compared to November 2023, and a 38% reduction compared to October of this year. Shipments of milled rice totaled 80.9 thousand tons in November, with revenue of US$ 36.7 million.
