Starting in July, bread prices in Turkey will range from 7 to 7.5 liras, according to the Turkish Bakers Federation President. Simit and bread prices have already increased in Sakarya, with a 250-gram loaf of bread now costing 7.5 liras, up from 5 liras, and Simit increasing from 6 to 7.5 liras. This price hike was approved by the Price Determination Commission and followed demands for a raise from bakers in Uşak as well.
