Europe: Brussels modifies restricted zones due to African swine fever in 14 countries

The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) published this Thursday the modifications to the restricted zones of 14 countries of the European Union (EU) due to the epidemiological situation in relation to African swine fever (ASF). This is the modification of the restricted areas of Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Sweden, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Romania. The OJEU has not included any restrictions or modifications related to Spain. According to the text, an outbreak of African swine fever in captive pigs has been detected this month in the Latvian county of Madonas, in an area currently listed as a restricted zone in the EU Implementing Regulation.
