During 2021, the price of habanero chili paid to farmers in the Yucatan Peninsula fell by 13 percent, according to records from the Agrifood and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader). The latest figures reported indicate that the pepper from Campeche was the most consumed in different regions of the country. For January 2021, the average price paid to peninsular producers was 24.12 pesos.
