[Reporter Hong Lan, Korea Farmers' News] The construction of the nation's first wooden apartment building is set to begin in earnest. The Korea Forest Research Institute plans to secure technological safety and establish a new standard for wooden construction in the country through collaboration with related agencies. The Korea Forest Research Institute announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gangnam Architecture & Engineering Office and Bomi Construction for the construction of the nation's first wooden apartment building on the 20th. The agreement includes △ technical consultation based on research on wooden construction utilizing cross-laminated timber (CLT) △ creation of mock-up designs for wooden apartments and proposals for improving related regulations △ demonstration and execution of the entire process from design and production of the mock-up to transportation, construction, and supervision.
