Vietnam's cashew nut exports to the United States are declining due to tax policy impacts. In April 2025, cashew nut exports to the US market reached nearly 14,000 tons, valued at $92 million, decreasing by 25% in volume and 4.2% in value compared to April 2024. Cumulatively in the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 42,000 tons of cashew nuts to the US, valued at $289 million, a 26% decrease in volume and 4.8% decrease in value compared to the same period in 2024. Mr. Vu Thai Son, Chairman of Binh Phuoc Cashew Association and General Director of Long Son Joint Stock Company, stated that the decline in cashew nut exports to the US is due to the 10% import tariff imposed on goods from all markets. Compared to 2024, global cashew nut prices are currently 25-30% higher, and with an additional 10% import tariff, cashew nut prices in the US market are now 35-40% higher.
