Spain: Castilla y León announces aid to promote hops cultivation

The Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) published, on March 17, the Order by which aid to the hop sector is summoned. These aids are intended to promote the production of the hop crop with the establishment of new plantations and the reconversion and improvement of existing ones, as well as the mechanization of the crop to adapt production to the demand of the industry, in order to guarantee its permanence and competitiveness. In the case of new plantations, the aid is aimed at natural or legal persons, or groups of natural or legal persons, including entities without legal personality, owners of an agricultural holding registered in the Registry of Agricultural Holdings of Castilla y León. In the case of aid for the acquisition of machinery, the beneficiaries are cooperative societies or groups and other agricultural associations.
