The latest Copa-Cogeca report reveals a 3.5% decrease in the EU-27's cereal production area for 2024, leading to a 4.7% drop in total cereal output. Soft wheat and durum wheat areas decline by 5.0% and 7.5%, respectively, with corresponding production drops of 6.4% and 5.7%. Barley area remains stable, but its production falls by 9.3%. Corn area grows by 1.3%, yet production slightly decreases by 0.5%. Both rye and oats see increases in area and production, with oats production surging by 21.2%. Sorghum and other grains face reductions in yield and production.
