Cheongyang-gun in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, has launched a standard agricultural product price guarantee system for farmers participating in the Comprehensive Food Plan. This system ensures a steady income for farmers supplying directly to school meals, public meals, and local food stores by compensating the difference if the market price drops below the set standard price for at least seven days. The system also promotes eco-friendly agriculture conversion. Last year, the military donated 35.8 million won to 178 farms, and this year, the system will cover 50 types of products, including Cheongyang pepper and Macmundong bean sprouts. The system was recognized with the Korean Policy Award for its promotion of sustainable agriculture, healthy military, and regional economic vitality.
