Cherry harvest has started in TOKAT. The cherries called '0900' produced in Akyamaç and Kemalpaşa villages of the center and which are twice as large as the normal ones are sent to Germany, Iraq and Switzerland, especially Russia. With the production of nearly 400 farmer, cherry and peach fruits living in Akyamaç and Kemalpaşa villages of the center, Tokat constitutes an important market throughout the country. In Akyamaç and Kemalpaşa villages, 90 percent of the people make their living from fruit production, while approximately 2 thousand people work during the harvest period.
