The Brazilian government is pleased that Papua New Guinea has approved health certificates for the import of poultry meat, mechanically separated chicken meat, and boneless beef cuts from Brazil. Exports will initially be conducted by Brazilian industrial plants inspected and approved by the Papuan government. These negotiations were driven by the Brazilian private sector, interested in the market of 9 million people in Papua New Guinea, the second most populous in Oceania. This opens up the 119th market for Brazilian agribusiness in 2024, with a total of 197 new opportunities in 59 destinations since 2023. This success is due to collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
