Russia has lifted restrictions on the import of poultry products from Rio Grande do Sul following an improvement in the epizootic situation of Newcastle disease in Brazil. The restrictions, imposed after a outbreak on a poultry farm in July, will be lifted from November 12, 2024. The federal service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) stated that Brazil had provided information on measures to localize and eliminate the outbreak. The restrictions also include the movement of live birds from the state through Russian territory.
