The 2022-2023 fresh fruit export season has seen a significant increase in shipments, reaching 535,627 tons, an 11.06% rise, according to the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX). China is the leading consumer, accounting for 91% of these exports, with South Korea and Taiwan taking 3% each, and Japan making up 4%. The exports are predominantly cherries, making up 71% of the total fruit sent to Asia, followed by plums, nectarines, table grapes, and blueberries.
