(Agraria.pe) During January and August 2022, Chile exported 2.7 million tons of fruit for a value of US$ 5,631 million FOB, registering an increase of 1.8% in volume and 4% in value, compared to what was achieved in the same period of the previous year. This was indicated by the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies of Chile (Odepa), who said that of the total value, 73.6% was fresh fruit, 20.2% was processed fruit (juices, oils, preserves, frozen, dehydrated), and 6.2 % was nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, among others). Fresh fruit reached sales of 2.17 million tons, equivalent to US$ 4,144 million FOB between January and August 2022. These exports registered an increase in volume of 1.9%, and in value of 2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
