Chile's table grape exports for the first five weeks of the season saw a decrease of 5% compared to the previous year, totaling 8.9 million boxes. The US, the primary market, experienced an 8% drop, and China's exports fell by 42%. Despite these decreases, new grape varieties and drought conditions are prompting Chile to shift to higher-yielding types. The total export forecast for the season is projected to reach 67.1 million boxes, which is a 9.7% decrease from the previous season and 0.9% lower than the previous estimate, with new varieties expected to make up 54% of all shipments.
