China has lifted a two-year ban on poultry imports from Argentina, allowing imports to resume from March 17. This decision comes after Argentina's suspension of poultry exports due to the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The ban was initially imposed by China in March 2023. Argentina was previously China's third-largest supplier of chicken products. This move comes amidst a trade war with the United States, leading to steep tariffs on American chicken, with China imposing a 15% import tariff.
