China has announced the reopening of imports for Taiwanese pomelo and other agricultural and fishery products, as reported by the General Administration of Customs of China. This decision follows a suspension imposed due to concerns about harmful scale insects and excessive pesticide residues. The Ministry of Agriculture in China is actively engaging in discussions with Taiwan to establish quarantine regulations and ensure the quality of imported produce. Despite the suspension, Taiwan has continued to improve its production standards and expand export markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Canada. The resumption of imports is anticipated to provide Taiwanese farmers with improved market opportunities.
