As of August 11, Ukraine has exported 113 thousand tons of barley, and the pace of shipments has accelerated. The main destination remains China, which accounts for up to 95% of the supply structure, determining the price dynamics and the behavior of market participants. This is reported by analysts of the agricultural cooperative PUSK, established within the framework of the VAS. "We are seeing more active purchases of barley, and prices are rising. Chinese quality is already trading within $216–218 per ton. Ordinary barley is bought at $210–212, but these are mostly small lots — 300–500 tons. For lots of a thousand tons, an additional premium can be obtained. Until August 15–20, deliveries to China need to be completed, and as long as the supply is insufficient, the market has the potential to rise to the $220 per ton mark with the appropriate quality," PUSK reports.
