In 2024, sunflower oil shipments to China from all over the world, according to the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, totaled 1,091,700 tons. This is a 28.2% (429,300 tons) decrease compared to 2023. From January to June 2025, sunflower oil shipments to China totaled 273,800 tons, a 58.9% (391,900 tons) decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Russia is the key supplier of sunflower oil to China. In January to June 2025, sunflower oil imports to China from Russia totaled 145,300 tons (53.1% of total shipments). Sunflower oil imports to China also came from Kazakhstan – 95,600 tons (34.9%), and Ukraine – 17,400 tons (6.4%). Smaller volumes of sunflower oil were supplied to China from Bulgaria (1,200 tons; 0.4%). The share of other countries amounted to 5.2% (14,200 tons).
