In 2024, China's tea exports increased by 1.8% to 374,100 tons, generating US$1.419 billion, with the average price per kilogram dropping by 18.4% to US$3.8. The exports of green tea, jasmine tea, and black tea rose, while other types saw a decline. Niger and Algeria were the top markets for these exports. On the other hand, imports of tea also rose by 38.5% to 54,200 tons, valued at US$158 million, with an average price of US$2.9 per kilogram. The imports of black tea, green tea, mate tea, jasmine tea, and Pu'er tea increased, with the most significant increase in black tea imports from Vietnam.
