Between February 28 and April 5, the Busan City Special Judicial Police Department conducted a crackdown on 130 businesses dealing with imported agricultural and marine products, finding illegal activities in 18 of them. These included mislabeling the country of origin, extending expiration dates, storing expired products for sale, and violating labeling standards. Notably, some restaurants falsely sold imported marine products as domestic, and one company profited by mixing cheaper Chinese clams with domestic ones. Additionally, companies were found selling unlabeled Chinese grains. All 18 businesses are set to be prosecuted to ensure food safety and maintain a healthy food environment.
