The Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (Agrosavia) and the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) have distributed 3,250 certified Tahiti acid lime and Pajarito acid lime trees to five producers in the department of Atlántico. The initiative aims to rejuvenate the citrus sector in the Atlantic region by enhancing production and combating diseases like Huanglongbing (HLB) through the use of disease-free plant material. The producers, selected for their farming practices and use of drip irrigation, are expected to see a production increase of 10% to 15%. This pilot project will also be used to observe the behavior of the plant material in an environment with a high HLB incidence.
