by Tomas Okuda São Paulo, 01/03/2022 - Total coffee exports by Brazil (unroasted, roasted, extracts, essences and concentrates) in December reached around 3.586 million 60 kg bags, which corresponds to a drop 17.18% compared to the same month in 2020, when nearly 4.330 million bags were shipped. In terms of foreign exchange income, there was a strong increase of 34.3% between the two periods, from US$ 588.714 million to US$ 790.643 million. The data were released this Monday by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), of the Ministry of Economy, and consider 23 working days last month, compared to 22 working days in December 2020. Of green coffee, nearly 3.461 million bags were exported abroad, 18.4% less than in December 2020 (close to 4.243 million bags). Revenue from exports of the product was US$ 719.884 million, 33.36% higher than in the same month last year (US$ 539,805 million).
