In September, the Carabinieri of the Agri-Food Protection Departments (RAC) in Italy conducted 170 checks at companies in the agri-food sector, leading to the seizure of 594 tons of food worth around 100,000 euros due to false evocations and labeling infringements. The operation also resulted in the reporting of five business owners for various offenses, the closure of a cellar for traceability issues, the seizure of four cattle, and the impounding of 1,600 liters of wine, 18,000 eggs, and 190,000 bags falsely representing 'Made in Italy' products. A total of 65 penalties were imposed, resulting in over 105,000 euros in fines.
