Vietnam is the fifth largest tea producer and exporter in the world, but its average tea export price is only 65% of the leading tea-exporting countries' average price. The country's tea industry is challenging to improve product quality to create a new export identity and increase export prices. In the first 10 months of 2024, Vietnam's tea exports reached 120,310 tonnes, valued at 211.93 million USD, with Pakistan being the largest export market. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has set a direction for 2030 to increase the area of certified clean and safe tea and apply high technology in tea production. The tea industry needs to focus on developing new tea products with high added value through deep processing and modern technology to improve tea product quality and compete in the global market.
