In 2020, dairy production in France experienced a slight growth of 0.2%, despite the pandemic-related disruptions. However, the end of the year and the beginning of 2021 saw a decrease in milk production, attributed to a reduction in the dairy cow herd by 80,000, a 2.2% drop from the previous year. The average price for conventional cow's milk in 2020 was 6 euros lower than in 2019, and while butter prices remained stable, skimmed milk powder prices gradually increased, both remaining below the levels of early 2020.
