The first batch of macadamia nuts officially exported to the Japanese market with a volume of more than 6 tons was grown in Krong Nang district, Dak Lak province. The product has undergone many stages of inspection by specialized agencies of the two countries on pest control, food safety and hygiene, packaging and traceability. Macadamia tree in Krong Nang district, was initially planted and tested by the General Department of Forestry in Phu Loc and Dlieya communes in 2003, with an area of about 4 hectares. Currently, macadamia has been recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a multi-purpose tree, both an agricultural tree and a forestry tree.
