The agricultural departments of Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal's five counties have requested government support to control crop diseases and pests, including white grubs, termites, and millipedes, as well as cattle. The appeal was made during a dialogue forum to boost food production and nutrition security, supported by UNMISS, WFP, and other UN agencies. The event highlighted the challenges of food distribution, soil erosion, and climate change. Farmers in the state grow a variety of crops, with sorghum being the most valuable.
