Although the Committee on Vegetables, Animals, Food and Feed of the European Union reached a unanimous agreement between the European Commission and the Member States to partially lift the restrictions on contagious nodular dermatosis (DNC) in certain areas of Spain (Girona) and France, following the improvement of the epidemiological situation in both countries, not all the Autonomous Communities are reacting in the same way. Thus, while Castilla y León is easing the restrictions, Galicia, Asturias, or the Basque Country have decided to extend the measures until March. Accordingly, The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) approved a resolution by the Consellería do Medio Rural extending the prevention measures related to the Dermatosis disease for one more month, which will come into force on February 2 until March 1, both dates included, and may be extended if necessary depending on the evolution of the disease.
