LEON, Sep. 5 (EUROPE PRESS) - The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Gerardo Dueñas, has promised to study direct aid for new hop plantations, after highlighting the importance of this crop. Dueñas, who is visiting a hop farm this morning in the Leonese municipality of Turcia, sees it as important to support this type of production since it establishes a population in rural areas, especially young people, given that they have to reside where the crop is located in order to their direct attention and subsequent collection. Also, hops is one of the most profitable crops, with about 12,500 euros per hectare, since six hectares are enough to support an average family.
