Georgia. Vegetables A surge in demand for potatoes and garlic in Georgia's neighboring countries has led to unusually high exports of these crops from the country in the first month of this year. Thus, the volume of deliveries of both potatoes and garlic from Georgia increased significantly this month, increasing to 3.7 thousand tons and 100 tons, respectively. It should be noted that such a sharp increase in export supplies could not but affect the domestic market of the country, provoking, for example, record high prices for potatoes, which were held at this level almost by the very end of the season. The main buyers of potatoes from Georgia during this period were Russia and Azerbaijan, where Georgian exporters supplied 1.8 thousand tons and 1.6 thousand tons of this product, respectively.
