Egypt's food imports for the period from January to April 2023 were detailed by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. Comparing it to the same period in 2022, Egypt imported mackerel, shrimp, and herring worth approximately $35.3 million. The report revealed that frozen mackerel imports increased by 190% to $14.8 million, while herring imports decreased by 33.6% to $11.3 million. Shrimp imports saw a growth rate of 10.3% to reach $9.2 million in the first four months of 2023.
