A delegation from the Lakes Protection and Fish Resources Development Authority of Egypt, led by Major General Hussein Farhat, participated in the Regional Aquaculture Conference in Heraklion, Greece. The conference aimed to discuss the future of sustainable aquaculture in the Mediterranean and Black Sea region, assessing progress towards the GFCM 2030 Strategy. The delegation discussed Egypt's opportunities and challenges in the aquaculture sector, including water scarcity, high production costs, and climate change. The Authority received the Compliance Award and expressed gratitude for the technical support offered by the Mediterranean Fisheries Authority. The conference concluded with active participation and meaningful discussions among stakeholders.
