[Korea Farmers' News Agency, Reporters Jin-woo Lee and Hyung-joon Ahn] The outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, where no virus had been detected in either farm or wild boar surveillance, has heightened tensions among quarantine authorities and pig farmers. However, there appears to be no additional spread from this location. After ASF was confirmed at the farm on November 24, concerns grew as four samples from tests requested by a private organization in early October, when deaths had begun, were found to be ASF positive during epidemiological investigations. However, as of December 3, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs reported that all nationwide surveillance and detailed inspections have shown no abnormalities.
