The Doukkala region in Morocco is renowned for its production of the Doukkali grape, which accounts for 27% of the country's table grape production. The grape is famous for its unique taste and decorative qualities, with the native Doukkali grape variety occupying over 42% of the table vine surface area. Other grape varieties such as Muscat d'Alexandrie, Valency, and Abbou are also cultivated. The sector employs local cooperatives and has a production value of 153 million DH annually. The Green Morocco Plan is also supporting the sector by aiding in the rejuvenation of orchards and increasing production. The grape products are not only a source of financial gain for farmers but also have health benefits due to their antioxidant and polyphenol content.
