The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkey is updating the import requirements for tomatoes, peppers, and pumpkin seeds from all countries. The updates are aimed at preventing the entry of harmful viruses and viroids, such as Tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus, Tomato mottle mosaic virus, Tomato apical stunt viroid, Columnea latent viroid, and Pepper chat fruit viroid. These agents pose a significant risk to Turkey as they are known to affect a wide range of plants in the Cucurbitacae and Solanaceae families, which are commonly cultivated in the country.
