EU agri-food trade grows in April

EU agri-food exports reached 20.1 billion euros in April 2025. This is a 4% decrease from March but still 2% higher than the same month last year. Between January and April, cumulative exports increased by 3% compared to the previous year, reaching 79.7 billion euros. The United Kingdom was the market with the highest growth between January and April, with exports increasing by 778 million euros (+4%), mainly due to higher prices for cocoa products. The USA followed with an increase of 686 million euros (+7%), despite a drop in exports in April. Exports to Switzerland increased by 467 million euros (+11%), also driven by cocoa-based products. In contrast, exports to China fell by 510 million euros (-11%), due to a sharp drop in cereal exports. Cocoa and coffee prices continued to support global export values.
