EU: High Level Group on European Wine Policy issues policy recommendations

Rome - The High Level Group on Wine Policy has published a set of recommendations to ensure a healthy EU wine sector. The Group's recommendations consist of a series of targeted policy actions to address the challenges of the wine sector and focus on three key areas: aligning wine production with demand, building resilience to market and climate challenges, and adapting to trends to seize new market opportunities. The Group also highlights the need to strengthen wine growers' resilience to market and climate risks by more effectively combating unfair trading practices and better targeting support for risk management tools and innovative insurance solutions, as well as aligning investments with climate change adaptation plans. The Commission will assess the recommendations with a view to their possible implementation.
