The European Union's 2024/25 season saw a 5% decrease in soybean imports to 2.45 million tonnes by September 8. In contrast, rapeseed imports surged by 46% to 0.94 million tonnes, and soybean meal imports increased by 7% to 3.32 million tonnes. Palm oil imports dropped significantly by 44% to 0.45 million tonnes. Soft wheat and barley exports also declined, falling by 23% to 4.82 million tonnes and 34% to 1.32 million tonnes, respectively. Notably, export data from France, Bulgaria, and Ireland were incomplete. Romania emerged as the leading exporter of soft wheat within the EU, followed by Lithuania, Bulgaria, Germany, and France.
