In 2021, the UK imported 203,380 tons of coffee, valued at $945.56 million, with the average price per ton being $4,649. The EU continues to be the primary supplier, but Vietnam is gaining popularity, with some suppliers packaging and exporting coffee under their own labels. The UK coffee market is expected to grow to $8.81 billion by 2022, with a significant preference for quality and environmentally friendly coffee. Vietnam, a key coffee-producing country, is encouraged to take advantage of the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement to increase exports by eliminating most tariffs. To succeed in the UK market, Vietnamese businesses are advised to produce high-quality Arabica coffee, invest in sustainable practices, and develop relationships with distribution corporations. The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to support Vietnamese businesses in reaching the UK market by providing connections to British and Irish importers.
