Russia and Belarus, part of the Eurasian Union, have opened new quotas for importing chicken meat for processing from Brazil, totaling 140 thousand tons for Russia and 10.9 thousand tons for Belarus, with zero tariffs. There is also a zero-tariff quota for importing 1.2 billion eggs to Russia, although negotiations for fresh egg imports are ongoing. The president of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association expects Brazil to play an important role in supplying the products demanded by Eurasian nations, with Russia being the 24th main destination for Brazilian chicken meat exports.
