Russia has become a major supplier of wheat to Kenya, exporting 820.7 thousand tons in the current agricultural season and meeting 60% of Kenya's wheat import needs in 2023. The partnership is crucial for Kenya's food security, with Russian wheat exports to the country steadily increasing. In the 2023/24 season, exports reached 1.5 million tons, and projections for the 2024/25 agricultural year suggest imports could rise to 2.6 million tons. Despite Kenya representing only 4% of Russia's total wheat exports, it is seen as a promising market for future growth.
