In the first half of 2021, Russia experienced a significant increase in agricultural exports, with pork and beef exports seeing the most significant growth. Pork exports rose by 19% to over 100 thousand tons, generating revenue of over $200 million, largely due to the expansion into the Vietnamese market. Poultry meat exports, on the other hand, saw a decrease of 6.6% in volume and 7.2% in value, primarily due to a 22% reduction in sales to China. Beef exports surged by 2.9 times to 14 thousand tons, contributing $84 million to the total export value. China continued to be the largest consumer of Russian meat products, followed by Vietnam and Ukraine. Overall, meat exports from Russia experienced a 26% increase in value, reaching $499 million.
