In the first eight months of 2024, exports rose by 9% to 7.8 million tons, with sunflower oil supplies up by 29% to 3.8 million tons. For the 2023/24 season, Russia exported 7.3 million tons of vegetable oils, a 28% increase from the previous season, with sunflower oil exports up by 31% to 5.3 million tons. Key buyers included India, China, Turkey, Egypt, and Iran. Projections for sunflower oil exports by the end of the 2023/24 season range from 4.7 to 5.25 million tons, while the US Department of Agriculture forecasts a decrease to 3.95 million tons.
